February Activities at Our Learning Centres February was a month of creativity, learning, and inspiration at Samiksha Foundation! Here’s a look at our engaging sessions: 🎨 February 4 – Art & Craft Session: “You Are Not Alone” Students and caregivers participated in a heartwarming art and craft session, creating handprint placards with smiling faces, decorated with colorful ribbons—symbolizing the love and support they receive from parents, doctors, and teachers. They also designed posters on “Hand in Hand, Together We Win,” reinforcing the importance of unity and support.

International Childhood Cancer Day | February 15, 2025 Today, we honor the strength and resilience of children bravely fighting cancer. At Samiksha Foundation, we take pride in empowering these young warriors with quality education, compassionate care, and unwavering support. A heartfelt salute to these incredible children for their achievements and to our dedicated team for every milestone, lesson, and success along the way. Your courage inspires us all! Together, let’s continue to spread hope, create smiles, and build a future where every child receives the care and love they deserve.

January Activities at Our Learning Centres Samiksha Foundation teachers conducted engaging activities at our learning centres, blending creativity with cultural learning. On January 9, 2025, students participated in a Makar Sankranti-themed drawing session, exploring the festival’s significance through art with guidance from Samiksha teachers. On January 24, 2025, a vibrant Coloring Session was held to celebrate Republic Day. Teachers shared its significance in Kannada and English, followed by quizzes, puzzles, and worksheets.

Celebrating One Year of SFLC at St.John’s Medical College Hospital 🎉 On January 25th, 2025 we proudly celebrated the successful completion of one year of SFLC at St. John’s Medical College Hospital (SJMCH) 🌟 To mark this milestone, we hosted a beautiful storytelling session led by our talented Samiksha teachers. Today, at St. John’s Learning Centre, 12 students and 7 caregivers joined us for a day filled with learning and creativity.

We are elated to share the grand success of the 9th year of Samiksha Foundation Scholarships Program, held in the BMCRI Campus, Kalsipalya, Bengaluru, on January 11th, 2025.This incredible event wouldn’t have been possible without the enthusiastic participation and unwavering support of our talented Samiksha team, Volunteers, Interns, and Students. The energy and cooperation made the day truly gleeful and memorable! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Patrons, Donors, and the Students’ Families for being an essential part of the Samiksha Foundation family.

Samiksha 2.0 will leverage Beneficial Technology to enable remote teaching/learning for the education of school age children undergoing long-term cancer treatment (hence missing school) especially where in-the-ward Samiksha Foundation Learning Centre (SFLC) established under Samiksha 1.0 are not functional at the hospitals for the children due to Covid 19. Though it appears the situation due to the Covid19 pandemic might return to a manageable phase soon, the possibility of going back to the hospitals to restart the Learning Centres such that the volunteers and staff of SF can interact with the immune-compromised children on a day-to-day basis was challenging.

Our latest Newsletter is here - Released in September 2023 We have reached over 11671 children since 2012 and awarded over 369 scholarships awarded since 2018. Feb 2024 we expect to award 75 students at our 15th Year MILESTONE EVENT! At Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology (KMIO), Bangalore: 971 children, of which 540 were in grades 1 to 10, and 2 were in high school.

Congratulations to the teams from Samiksha and U-Sky for launching the Samiksha - U-Sky Digital Learning Platform, in Nov.2020. An essential part of the new learning program This platform makes tailored educational content available to the children both at the hospital and at home, on tablets and web browsers. The content is available to students and teachers through exclusive log in IDs and in 4 languages. We seek volunteers to help with quality checks on this platform in all languages -
