ABOUT
Our Vision and Belief
Knowledge Empowers and Happiness Heals
Our vision and belief is driven by the high success rate of childhood cancer treatment (nearly 85%).
Our goal is to provide an environment of independent and assisted learning for children with cancer and their families, increasing their happiness through learning and creative activity. This can also help increase the children’s self-esteem and confidence, allowing them to face the challenges of their medical condition with hope and dignity, improving the quality of life of their families, and empowering them to return to the mainstream without fear or apprehension. Most importantly, we help them return to school in the right grade after their time in the hospital.
Our mission is driven by the need for non-medical support and schooling in hospital environments.
Samiksha is a creative learning initiative, and a non-clinical mission. It is specially designed for children aged between 4 and 16 with cancer or certain non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and life-limiting conditions. At Samiksha, we wish to make the life of the children and their caregivers a fulfilling experience. Our team consists of creative professionals, local teachers, skilled volunteers and a strong committed core team with leadership and focus.
Our motto is: “The pursuit of knowledge is key to their pursuit of happiness.”
Evidence of success
Over 6500 children have been beneficiaries of Samiksha programmes so far, and over 5000 children in total have returned to school (as documented by teachers, caregivers, and students returning for maintenance treatment).
